One personal example of playing with form or genre in a film is Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Pulp Fiction’. This movie totally stays from a traditional narrative structure. It is written and produced to where the entire story is told out of chronological order with an oblique timeline. This way of film making completely challenges the norms of today’s film making, often confusing and frustrating audiences. But Quentin’s remarkable skills with witty dialogue and amazing characters make his work so appealing and entertaining to watch. He is very often known for suspenseful and engaging humor and action which honestly works incredibly well with the structure of the film, Pulp Fiction.
The way that Quentin focuses so hard on making his films adaptable for all kinds of audiences, especially for his out of the ordinary film Pulp Fiction, shows that he does deeply understand his audiences and has a beautiful imagination.
