I believe the best way to determine if someone is credible is based on their merit. If a person who has accomplished lots, works hard, and is known to be well educated in certain topic or field they are a credible person for that specific topic. For example, a person I would find credible would be Mr. Thomas. Mr. Thomas is evidently well educated and compete when it comes to math being college educated and taught math and AP calc for years. For anything math related he would be a very credible source as he demonstrates knowledge and confidence in what he know from his years of experience.
