Objective: Create a 31 day devotional through the book of Proverbs.  You will create a devotional for each chapter of Proverbs. 

Your Proverbs Devotional:

Start a Google Doc titled “ProverbsDevotional_LastNameFirstName”

You will continue to add to this document as you write more devotionals.

For Each Chapter:

1. Read the chapter of Proverbs and begin to note the key verses, themes, and insights. 

2. Use a study Bible or online links to dig deeper into understanding the Proverb. (links in Moodle)

2. Blue Letter Bible and how to use their free commentaries   

3. NET Bible 

4. Study Light (see list of commentaries at https://www.studylight.org/commentaries.html )

3. Select a key verse (or passage) and a theme for your devotional.

4. Write a 200-300 word devotional. 

A. Each devotional should include:

  I. the passage

  II. clarity of what that passage means

  III. an observation or story (from your life, famous people, stories in the news, etc.)

  IV. an application for how to put the verse into practice in everyday life

  V. an ending question or challenge

  VI. add supportive scripture or insight that, over the course of your 31 devotions, helps people understand the Christian faith.

B. Goals

 I. Make the 31 devotionals seem unified as you build your book

II. We will read our classmates devotionals each week and give constructive feedback

III. At the end of the semester you will have time to revise your devotional and transfer it into an ebook.
