Book Talk Guidelines

Novel Project: Book Talk 

Choice Novel:

Requirements:

• Must be at least 150 pages
• Must be appropriate content for school: pluggedin.com/books
• Must be a reasonable reading level- no children’s chapter books with giant font size
• Must be approved by Mrs. VanHoosear 
• Must be a book you have not read before
• Only one student may sign up for a book per class
• If it is in a series, you may have to focus your book talk on the first book 

Project Details: 

You will share the following with the class: 

• A brief summary of the book including the title, author, and genre 
• your opinion of the book including a rating 1-10
• Your recommendation of the book ie. I would recommend this book to someone who...

You will also be graded on:

• how prepared you are
• how interesting your book talk is
• the appropriateness of your voice tone and level
