Is there a point where inflation will grow so high that we will no longer be able to purchase any goods or services, possibly resorting back to trading or bartering? Or would that just be the end of the world?

If I am not wrong I think something like that has happened in Venezuela and Zimbabwe who have suffered hyperinflation. So I guess that could happen (because it already has in other countries) but I am not so sure about inflation resorting to a society back to trading and bartering. Hopefully, the government implements plans that will combat against the extreme inflation rates so it doesn't get to the point of trading and bartering.

Jed is spot on! When hyperinflation happens, the money loses its purpose as a medium of exchange and folks may start bartering - further reduces economic activity and gains from trade.
