Chapter 1 Response

The public speaker that I look up to is Tony, my pastor at my church. He is a great role model to me because first of all, I've known him for almost ten years of my life. He also is really good at getting the audience's attention by telling a real story that happened in his life, or by simply bringing up a topic that is very popular. He is good at making the audience laugh as well as making sure the audience is engaged in the message. He uses the civic model. A civic model is when it is a one person speaking to more than one person. He will use visualization when he is speaking as well as showing us a video of something that has to do with his message. I enjoy listening to him because he makes really good points in his sermon. These are reasons why my pastor Tony is my role model when it comes to public speaking.
