Speech Role Model

One speech role model I have is my pastor. His deliverance of speech stands out because he does not cover up emotion. He does not fake emotion and be dramatic, but specifically when our deep sin issue followed by the overwhelming gift of Christs death and resurrection is being discussed it is visible how personally it affects him. His willingness to be vulnerable by showing emotion engages the audience. The audience is usually feeling the same overwhelming thankfulness for Jesus, so being relatable makes the speech well delivered. In addition, the passion behind his sermons causes a more personable feeling, and from a Christian viewpoint is a further testimony to the audience of all that God has done for him. Lastly, I appreciate humor and he includes it in various ways. His appropriate use of humor is partly why I chose my pastor as my speech role model even though there are many great speakers.
