chapter 2 response

I would say its a mix of both internal and external that bother me, but external bothers me most. I like a little bit of background noise, but if its too loud or if its music, then I will tune myself out and start focusing on the music and lose my train of thought. I feel like background music would be more distracting for the audience rather than the speaker.  I also really hate dead silence. If I have a break in my speech, then I will focus on the dead silence and lose my train of thought and get nervous because I'm the only one standing and talking in front of an audience. Lastly, I'm good with eye contact when talking one on one with someone,  but if I'm speaking and I lock eyes with someone for a long time, I can feel myself go red and I lose my train of thought.

I agree with you! External noise can get very annoying at times. I can also relate with what you said about making eye contact.

One hundred percent agree with you. Noise in general bothers me, but I also absolutely hate when it is completely silent.
