Chapter 2 Response

The type of noise that affects me the most is definitely internal noise. Growing up in a very loud house, I have become very good at tuning things out that may annoy or distract me. I can easily continue on with my work while loud things are going on around me. However, it is harder for me to tune out internal noise, such as what I'm thinking about other people in the room, what I am going to say next, or if I am hot or cold. To do my best to tune this out, I try to distract myself from what I am thinking by looking at the next line of my writing, to keep my mind on the topic of what I am trying to say.

This makes a lot of sense. I completely understand this and do the same things.

Internal noise is definitely more of a struggle for me too. Looking at the next line of your writing to stay on topic seems like a great strategy.

I love the point you made about what you’re thinking to say next. I didn’t mention that in my response, but I fully relate to that. I always worry that my sentences or words may get scrambled.
