Chapter 11 Response

I believe that PowerPoints are more helpful than harmful to speeches. I know that for me personally, I focus more and understand more when there is a slide presentation along with a speech. As a visual learner, it helps me pay attention instead of zoning out for a few minutes. Using pictures, visual statistics, sounds, or videos helps to involve more than one sense for the audience, and that helps the audience remember the speech more. However, when a PowerPoint presentation doesn't work correctly or a slide stays up too long, that can be distracting. All in all, I believe that PowerPoint presentations help engage and relate better to an audience during a speech.

I also think that PowerPoints are more helpful than harmful to speeches. When I'm listening to a speech, I agree that visual aids allow me to focus more and understand the topic better. Technology issues are difficult, but I think the benefits outweigh the possible issues as well.

I agree with this completely! I think that Powerpoints are so helpful. I love seeing things to help jog my memory and really take in the information that was being said.

I agree that slideshow presentations help to keep my attention and keep me from being distracted. I also agree that visuals and pictures help the audience remember what the speaker shared and talked about.
