Chapter 11 Response

When it comes to the debate of whether slideware is important or not, I believe that slideware is a good addition to the speech or presentation. I think that slides add illustrations and information that is able to keep the audience engaged and alert. I know that I personally tend to focus better when there is a slideshow because if I miss something that the speaker said, I can typically look at the slides to get back on track. I also believe that slides help the audience remember what they heard. A visual representation of something can allow the audience to picture and recall what the speaker talked about. However, when using slides, I still think that it is important to be careful and not make them too simplistic. Overall, I do not think there is a problem with using slideware as long as it is used accurately.

I also focus better when there is a slideshow. I agree that there isn't much of a problem with using slideware in a presentation due to its many benefits.

I agree with what you said about keeping the audience more engaged and alert, I know that is definitely true of me.

I agree Mallory! I think that slideshows keep my attention a lot better than only a speaker would, and that having something to look at rather than just listening to the speaker keeps me really engaged and alert!
