If you are giving a speech and your body communication is showing the audience that you are not taking the message seriously, that could contradict the spoken words of the speech. When speaking to an audience it is important to dress appropriately and for the occasion. You wouldn't wear your pajamas to a business meeting. You would want to make sure your attitude is geared toward the subject, and if the space is professional, slouching or lazing around would not captivate your audience. If you don't have the right delivery or body language, people won't take you or your speech seriously.
