I know that in many songs, genres and form can be played with. Certain artists in the past have switched their singing genre in the past. One of the popular examples is Post Malone. He switched from pop/rap to country, but I don't know if it transitioned well because I haven't listened to him. I have also seen some artists change the flow in their songs to something completely different, and most of the time it works. In Post's case, his popularity carried most of his followers to his country songs and I am sure he gained some new fans, so I would say he was successful.

This is definitely one that I didn't;t think of, but this is such a good example. This was a wild turn of events when he did that.

I remember hearing about this! The switch from pop/rap was super unexpected especially because he was doing so well in the pop/rap genre of music. It was totally unexpected!!

I like this example. Post Malone's switch to country was definitely unexpected because he was a very popular pop/rap singer.

Fantastic example, he made an extremely gutsy move trying to switch audiences and transition to country music. Although I think it was well executed and he is still a big name artist.
