Form

The Star Wars sequel trilogy in my opinion greatly played with form. The audience had built expectations from the many other Star Wars films. The way I saw the form manipulated was in the character development. The build up to the release of the trilogy set fans to expect a complete change of heart to one of the presumed main characters. However, this character, Finn, received almost no development and was less of a main character and more of a character that was present but not relevant. Star Wars had the reputation of developing even minor side characters with complete stories of their development. This is likely why the sequel trilogy is most disliked by the audience.

I agree Jo. Because Disney failed to successfully change their form in what the audience had hoped for, they ended up failing the genre shift and causing a very disliked story. Fun fact: I also talked about Star Wars in my response

YES! I am so glad you used Starwars as an example. They way disney handled the character in the films really hurt the development and ruined what many expected from the movies.
