Chapter 13 Response

Chapter 13 Response

I have attended a few weddings and at every single one I have witnessed celebratory toasts towards the bride and groom. The audience tends to prefer when these toasts remain short and sweet. The speaker says enough to make the bride and groom feel seen but it isn't too long to where the audience is getting bored. I've noticed that what makes a wedding toast successful is when they include a short, sentimental memory and then briefly talk about the couple. On the other hand, something that makes a wedding toast a failure is when the speaker goes on and on about things that have no relevance to anyone.

I totally agree with you!! I think it's better to have your toast be short but still personal.

This is a great example! I love how you talked about what makes it successful!
