Cars

While they are many benefits to the safety standards of cars in America, it angers me that these standards cost car prices to skyrocket. The opportunity cost of me purchasing a cheap made car that gets the job done is that it isn't fancy or flashy and less safe in a car accident. But the money that I didn't spend on a new car would have been going to car insurance. When you get a late start in life it makes it difficult to purchase a nice car, you have to settle for a used car that isn't in good condition and has upwards of 100000 miles. I'd prefer a new, 6,000 dollar car that gets me from point A to point B with no radio or or AC then a $6000 used car with 100,000 miles and an engine that makes squealing noises every 28 seconds while leaking oil.

I agree that having a cheap car with nothing in it to get to point a to point b, that doesn't have 100,000 miles on it is a good idea. The only problem is during the winter, you got to include just seat warmers.

I would agree for sure. Especially for new drivers who want a reliable car but do not want to drop $20,000 plus dollars that they don't have.
