Opportunity Cost

Opportunity Cost

When shopping for cars, new technology and gas mileage are important things to weigh into a decision of which car to buy, but to some people the cost and reliability outweighs everything else. By car manufacturers producing cars at a cheaper price, but with more gas mileage the consumers opportunity cost would be the cost of repairs of a less reliable and shorter-lasting vehicle. To most, a vehicle is a mode of transportation to work, or to take children to school. Where gas mileage is an important aspect of what makes a car worth the cost, I think that the opportunity cost of more money in repair and needing to be replaced in 100k miles or less is not worth the lower quality.
