My dearest enjoyers of studying econ,

I want to make known to you that a significant number of fishermen work tirelessly day and night to catch fish that ends up on your dinner table. However, there are some people who unknowingly are worsening the fishing industry by producing protein rich foods at a large scale with much less toil. This is terribly unjust, for all the fishermen are losing potential consumers of their fish. I propose that a law be made that would result in the illegality of raising livestock. These farmers too easily produce more sustainable food that is cheaper in most cases. You no doubt will object to this. However, by rejecting my proposition you are negatively influencing the fishing industry and hurting the sushi restaurants in our community.

Indubitably kind sir! I think this should be more evident to our fellow citizens.

I reject your proposition sire, for my employees who work to guard my livestock from the harm of predators will lose their jobs and will cause permanent damage to my livestock industry. Get out of the thread fishy boy.

Hold on now dear sir, protein is ruining the economy, we need to be eating more sugar. Who needs animals when you can eat animal crackers. And forget real fish, we need to be eating goldfish and swedish fish.

Dear Josiah,
I regret to inform you that your petition has some major holes. In stating that the entire alternate protein industry be demolished, you excluded a vast majority of people who have allergies to fish. I think that you and I both know that, though bread two thousand years ago may have been sufficient, the grain produced now gives no nutritional value after severe processing requirements. How then should one who is allergic to fish nourish and care for their body?
Might I propose a solution? Petition for raising cattle and selling alternate proteins to be no more in states of the north. The vast majority of these states, lets just say the original 13, are in close proximity to water and can thrive on your suggestion. Those who come to the unfortunate discovery that they are allergic to fish and live in these areas can simply move. An incentive can be provided, a pity-parting-gift if you will for those affected, but it will ensure that our fishermen are not neglected.
Thank you for your petition and good thoughts,
Alyssa
