As representatives of the American Umbrella Manufacturers Association, we respectfully request that you address a serious threat to our industry. This threat is the new popular use of free weather forecast apps. Because citizens can now check the forecast before leaving home, many choose not to purchase umbrellas unless necessary. This unfair advantage given to free digital forecasting has significantly reduced our umbrella sales. We would love it if you limited access to weather apps so consumers can once again buy our umbrellas. Protecting domestic producers will overall strengthen our economy and preserve American jobs.
