Chap 5 Response

The American Medical Association has played a major role in the declining amount of doctors. By increasing both rigor of the program and the financial burden that it takes to become a doctor, fewer and fewer are able to do it. Because of this, there are not as many doctors to see. If you make an appointment for something, you typically can only get in to see a physician's assistant or a nurse practitioner in a timely manner. Seeing an actual doctor takes an extended waiting time nowadays. So even if the AMA's intention was to exceed standards for medical care, in reality, the quality of our medical care has decreased greatly.

Great job, Gwen! I love what you said about how the amount of doctors would be decreased, because that is really important and would directly effect most Americans everyday life.
