I would argue that AMA isn't nefarious or simply fighting for higher medical standards. I think that they genuinely are creating a higher standard of care and I definitely think that doctors should be very qualified, but I also think that AMA is more self benefiting than it wants to help everyone. They created higher standards to make people think that they should only go to the higher doctors but in reality it was for their own benefit.
