DC Econ: Let's Party Like It's 1973!

Would you take the deal and go back to 1973 if it meant you could pay 1973 prices while only enjoying 1973 goods and services? No I would not take the deal because there would be no Minecraft.
Why might the poorest Americans prefer living in 1973. Do you think many would? Why or why not? The poorest Americans might prefer to live in 1973 due to not being able to afford much today; prices were lower and many regulations around today that heighten prices were not around then, causing more money saved.
What are some examples of improvements to quality of life that haven’t been measured well by prices alone? Improvements in technology are extremely hard to measure with prices due to how hard they were to produce and now new inventions and features have been created today.
Are there any goods or services where you think quality has gone down, the opposite effect discussed in the video? Do you think this problem is common or rare? This is hard to assess due to myself not being around in 1973, but overall quality has improved because America has a competitive economy.
Do you think people in the past were more or less happy than people today? Would most people in 1973 be excited or sad to live in today’s world with today’s goods and services? This is a hard thing to decide because those who lived in 1973 did not know what we would have today. My grandparents would probably say they are happier today from the technological advancements that let them connect with family.
