The 2020 quarantine lead to massive unemployment rates for all demographics, but for just a short time. For example, in April 2020, for 16-19 year olds, unemployment spiked to 32.8%. This was immediately followed just four months later by a drop to 13.8%. Why is this? The change from normal to quarantine led to a great demand for regulations, rules, and ways for people to get their jobs back. As a result, sanitation became stricter, with new rules being in place for many positions. This created an available job market for teens to start earning money again.
