Ryan McMaken's critique of Keynes' theory is that central planning does not work because it takes away the people's ability to do what they want and leads to impoverishment. The way to get out of the Keynesian way of thinking is by having a correction in prices and less central planning. His answer to Stossel's question is that people who are in favor of inflation and more government regulation have an advantage that everyone in government wants to have the regulation and they have the power to do it. The people want the government to spend on them as well so it adds to the popularity of the view.
