The video talks about how tariffs seem good, but really are not beneficial. Tariffs drive up prices, decreasing trade and slowing productivity, making people lose jobs, and decreasing technological development. The video talks about how presidential candidates are always pushing tariffs, claiming they'll take America back, when they only prevent America from advancing.

They are both in support of tariffs because like most politicians they only care about the immediate results of the tariff. They don't care or don't know about the long term consequences of these tariffs. They want more money in the US and more jobs in the US but all tariffs do is make things more expensive and actually take away jobs because then because of tariffs companies can't afford things.

chapter 18

It’s kind of like how my mommy likes when I have discussion boards that I can do it nice because it’s an easy grade to go in for Mr Weaver, and my mommy likes the the look of when I get a 100% on something. The reality is I need points for this class so desperately that I am taxing myself 25 minutes from writing that paper that I keep saying I’m going to write to do something that in reality does not give me many points. Checkmate Weaver.

I agree, tariffs drive prices up because the international goods in the US cost much more than they need to be, just to cover for tariff costs.
