McMaken says that Keynes only looks at the instant results from spending and does not look at the long term consequences. Keynesians believe that throwing cash at problems fix the problems. It does not, it only prolongs the problem and makes it a bigger problem later. His answer to the question is basically that Keynesian ideas are easier to get passes in Congress and they are more popular than Austrian.
