Business and Technology Experience

Over the next few weeks you will partnering with one or two others to form a business team which must complete a set of tasks during the work week. The tasks themselves, and their completion, along with a reflection on the experience, will comprise your quiz for this week. Here are the tasks you and your partners are asked to complete: 

Friday, November 21: 

1. Decide your team's business: Are you a goods or services company? What will you sell or provide? What will be the name of your business? [Note: Be sure to look ahead at the other projects; you want your company to be small enough for a manageable website creation]

Monday-Tuesday, November 24-25: 

2. Create, using Google Sites, a website for your company. This should include the following: 
* Company name and good/service

* Company Logo

* Company motto/objective

* Services or products offered, with descriptions and necessary details

* Company executives, including pictures

Monday - Tuesday, Dec. 1-2:

3. Create, using Google Docs or another file-creating program, a newsletter to send home with company employees. The newsletter should contain the following: 

* A letter from the head of the company

* Any news employees need to know (i.e. break room guideline changes, holiday hours, etc.) 

* Updates or plans upcoming for the company

* Extras, like an employee-of-the-month or an upcoming company dinner, etc. 

* Pictures, color, professional, edited text, etc.

Wednesday - Thursday, Dec. 3-4: 

4. A professionally-composed email to me (imagine I'm the company's president or owner or CEO, OR another company whose business you want) describing a concern you have with the company OR pitching me a sale for a product or company collaboration/merging. Be professional. Your grade for this part of the project will be based on grammar, spelling, sentence structure, and professionalism, and I only need one email per group, but please sign all three names. 

5. Write a 1/2 - full page reflection (individually) on how this experience went for you! Please include how it went to collaborate with your group, to create a website, to create a newsletter, and to craft a professional email. 

Friday, December 5th: 

Finally, you will present your company's website and newsletter to the class for your quiz grade (along with the reflection and the email). Note: This grade is worth 3x what other quiz grades have been worth due to the work that you will put into it!
