Since food stamps and EBT cards are given to those with very little income, wouldn't college student try to take advantage of them? I know that you are still somewhat connected to your parents until your 24 or married so they wouldn't qualify, but what is the process for people to get "detached"from their parents finances?
I am not quite sure what the qualifications are. I imagine that students would indeed take advantage of them, so I imagine their is some disqualifying factor. Maybe there is a provision that full time students cannot draw benefits? I am not an expert in this area, but if I remember correctly, don't you have an older sibling? I imagine this is something your parents would have some insight to. If not, perhaps you could ask another teacher who has kids that are much older than mine.
