I heard that some cops pretend to be interested in products on the Black market to catch criminals, but if they have access to the Black Market why don't they just shut it down? I know that criminals would probably find another way to create a website, but why isn't it more difficult? These people have to know that some sort of law enforcement is on the site, but they keep posting humans? It just seems very strange and messed up if the feds are on the Black Market but not really stopping people.
I imagine the theory is they don't close down a supplier in order catch consumers in an effort to reduce demand. I am not a law enforcement expert, but from the economics perspective of looking at incentives, I imagine that is how they rationalize not shutting down a seller of an illicit good or service immediately.
