Speech Role Model

I absolutely love my pastor. His name is Josh and he's been our pastor for about two years now. He's originally from Texas, so he sometimes uses "y'all" and my family and I think that's so funny. You can just tell that he's southern. He gets so into his sermons, you can tell he's very passionate. He doesn't even have a chair, he never sits down. There was this one time when he almost fell off the stage because he got so passionate about a message. Also, he always has a physical item up on stage with him to help him explain the message better. He has his manuscript, or notes, in front of him, but he barley ever uses them. The only time is to really emphasize a main point or to get himself back on track. He sometimes gets off track and goes on a 10 minute tangent.

Even though I've never met your pastor before, I can tell that he's a great speaker by how you've described him. Having a passionate speaker is SO much more engaging than one who isn't. I'm glad you have such a fantastic pastor!

I think being very passionate about teaching a sermon is probably the most important thing a pastor can be/have. Being able to engage with the audience keeps their attention a lot more than being stagnant, especially not reading off a manuscript. He sounds like a great guy :)
