Speech Role Model

Someone that I am really inspired by when it comes to public speaking is my father. He often speaks in front of people for his job, and I've watched him speak many times. He's very good at engaging a crowd and making them feel comfortable wherever he talks, whether it's a conference room or in a church sanctuary. He doesn't mind getting personal about his own feelings on stage and being vulnerable to his audience, which is another thing that I really admire. I also look up to him for his mindset prior or during his speeches. He is never nervous, or at least he never says he is. You would never be able to tell anyway by his countenance and the way he carries himself. He makes sure to plan and prepare for speeches, often going over the time limit because he planned to say more than the time limit allowed. Overall, I look up to my father and hope that one day I can be as confident as him when I need to do any kind of public speaking.

This is so wholesome. From the times I have spoken to Mr. Faupel, I have seen these characteristics that you have described. He does seem confident, and I too, would like to have the confidence that he shows someday when I talk in front of audiences.

I agree that your dad is a great speech role model. I have talked with him many times and you are right in that he doesn't mind sharing his personal feelings on topics. I feel like that can say a lot about a person! I also agree that he is very confident when he speaks.

I agree with your pick completely! I have heard him speak several times at Pathway, and every time I hear one of his messages I leave inspired! He is very engaging with his audiences, very knowledgable, and very clearly passionate about the topics that he speaks about!

I have been at church while your dad spoke, and have always enjoyed it! Like you said, he does a great job of engaging the crowd, especially with is online interactive surveys, and being open and vulnerable with the crowd. I think when people open up about their own struggles in the context of their walk with God it keeps me engaged and causes me to self- reflect. I think that you did a great job of explaining his unwavering confidence, which is very evident when he speaks. Great job!

I agree that your dad is a great speech role model. Whenever he comes into chapel, he engages the audience well and keeps our attention. I also haven't ever really noticed him being nervous on stage or suspected that he might have been unprepared. Mr. Faupel is a great speech role model with how engaging, prepared, calm, and collected he is on stage.
