It depends on how interesting the speech is. If I find the message interesting, usually I get distracted by the speaker saying filler words like um, or fiddling with their stance or clothing, but usually it’s not to a point where I can’t understand the message. If the speech is boring, I’ll get distracted by daydreaming. I can usually snap out of it if the speaker calls out to the audience or I remember there is a speech going on and that I need to pay attention.

Being distracted by the speaker is so true! Daydreaming is a very valid distraction as well. I love how you explained the difference between the distracting noise when the speech is interesting and when it's not.
