The most distracting noise for me is when small things around me catch my attention. I am someone who pays attention to detail and when my surroundings are changing even just a little bit I notice it. This type of noise is external but affects me internally as it gets my eyes moving and the gears in my mind turning. To keep myself focused on the task in front of me, I often find an isolated spot that keeps movement out of the picture. For instance, I often find myself focusing the best when I am alone in my room with the door shut and with music softly playing in the background. During a presentation I try my best to blur my vision or not focus directly on one spot in front of me for too long. Focusing on what I am going to say next also keeps my mind busy and doesn't allow for stray thoughts to grab my attention. Although noise can sometimes firmly grab my attention, I have found ways to avoid it, and escape it if it gets to me.
