Feelings over Logic

Personally, I think that logic is always the way to go when making a decision in life. Whether or not I actually listen to that advice, because I am very feelings orientated. Logic is always the way to go. But, when talking about engaging and connecting with an audience, feelings might be the way to go. Feelings is something everyone has whether they think they don't or they do. Feelings are a part of this world, and some people are better at expressing them than others for sure. Feelings can go a long way in speeches, it how you connect best with an audience in my opinion. I don't think anyone would voluntarily listen to a speech with no heart, or feeling involved within the speaker or the speech. When you have your heart and feelings involved with your speech it will touch the hearts of the audience, it I'll make it easy to listen to and will just give you a better connection with the speaker. I think a line is crossed when you eventually start turning the feelings given into manipulation, pr you are trying to coax them in by making them feel bad. That is a plus side of logic, there's no room for manipulation, just facts.

I agree with this Marnie, sometimes we make fast or rushed decisions based on how we are feeling in the moment. This can lead to us making a bad decision that maybe if we took a little more time to think about it would be a better decision.

I agree with you! I love how you connected your opinion to real life by saying that logic is the best way to go when it comes to real life scenarios.

Personally, I agree. I always base my decisions on logic because if I make choices based on my feelings then it never ends well because my feelings change. In a speech setting, feelings are good when it helps you relate to your audience.

I totally agree with you Marnie. Although I tend to lead my decision making with my emotions, I believe that making logical decisions are always better.

"When you have your heart and feelings involved with your speech it will touch the hearts of the audience, it I'll make it easy to listen to and will just give you a better connection with the speaker. I think a line is crossed when you eventually start turning the feelings given into manipulation...", I really like these sentences, they are well written. Having a personal opinion or having strong feelings about something in your speech can really personalize it and make it easier to listen to because its you talking, not a list of facts. But I love how you said that your feelings can turn into manipulation (depending on the person) and that could definitely end bad. It's like you're not letting room for other opinions or views.

I agree that logic is important. Mr. Hyde always says that feelings make bad decisions, so I think there is value to hearing the truth in logic.
