In speech it can be a gray area of when to use feelings or logic. In my opinion the timing is important, but it’s also about how you use logic and feelings. As a Christian my opinions and feelings should align with logic, so in that sense feelings and logic could go together bringing automatic balance. For any person though (Christian or not) he can strike a balance by using feelings to draw the audience in, for the audience would feel comfortable by the fact that the speaker is relatable. Once the audience is drawn in the speaker should be more cautious to not only be talking about their feelings and opinions. Sometimes acknowledging other feelings about a topic can elevate a speech because the audience can respect that the speaker knows the other points of view about the issue and does not deny them. On the other hand, the speaker knows he’s crossed the line when not mentioning that other beliefs and feelings exist because the speech becomes all about “me”. A speaker would cross the line of using too much logic if it becomes just a list of fun (or not so fun) facts.
