How I picked my topic

How I picked my topic

I was thinking about all of the things that I have liked or known well and I landed on Blackhawk basketball. I had narrowed my topic down to sports already because I know them pretty well. This topic was easy for me because I am part of the program and know all of the stats and analytics of our team. In the future, I plan to use a similar strategy; I will brainstorm about topics that I am interested in and go from there. For the persuasive speech, I will look for some important questions in the world and pick a side.

Yes your topic was very well spoken. It kept me intrigued and you had a bright presence about you when you were up there.

If anyone knows and has been around Blackhawk basketball, its you Christian. I can't think of a better person to talk about this. I think that is a really good strategy Christian.

I liked how you picked a topic that you knew a lot about and that was important to you. Brainstorming is also a great place to start for picking a topic.

I agree! Narrowing down your topic down to something you personally know and are interested in is a great strategy. You picked a very good topic that you could relate to.

I definitely agree with the brainstorming, I would also add a little bit of how that subject applies to others, as well as how it might be important/resonate with you. Also, great opinion speech! I felt the way Mr. Davidson resonated with you. Even though I never got to know him, I felt a deep sense of sorrow and respect for him. He sounded like a godly man, who definitely had an impact on many.

I like that you approach brainstorming with topics you are interested in, as I believe those give the best speeches; if you didn’t care about your topic, it wouldn’t be exciting.
