Chapter 4 Response

Chapter 4 Response

I landed on a topic for my opinion speech by analyzing my own interests along with the speech situation. The audience I knew also had some interest in what I was speaking about, so that is what led me to purse my train of thought about basketball. For speeches in the future, I anticipate selecting topics by knowing what interests me and understanding my personal knowledge of the topic. If I already know a good amount about the topic that I am interested in, it will be much easier to present it to the audience. Understanding the speech situation and audience interests are also helpful.

That is a great way to choose a speech and you did a really great job balancing your interests, the audience's interests, and your knowledge of the topic.

This is such a smart way to start a speech Cruz, I love how you aren't putting yourself above the audience or the audience above you.

I agree, understanding the situation and the audience with a topic that the speaker is interested in will keep the audience engaged and the speaker will be interesting to listen to.

I was not there for your speech, but your ideas align with mine very much the same. The topic being interesting to you is more important than the audiences interest; for a successful speech.
