Chapter 5 Research

I agree with the statement that people have anxiety when it comes to information overload. It is very simple to waste time and find a bad topic or none at all. It is also hard to find a topic because there are many that can be too long or short, irrelevant to the audience, or just plain boring. Picking an important topic is the most important part of a speech because it sets up the whole thing to be a success or failure. This relates to me because typically, I procrastinate a lot, so I do it to myself really. Simply finding my research much earlier than the day before the deadline would serve me greatly. Allowing enough time and using credible databases to find sources is the best way to relieve research anxiety.

I definitely agree, sometimes I feel like it is impossible to find the perfect topic. This could result in low confidence or little to no passion on the topic you choose. All this could lead to a bad or lackluster project or speech.

I agree that many students suffer from information anxiety because of procrastination. Finding the research really early on has proved to help me be more efficient and also gives me time to sit on the information I found.
