Chapter 5 Response

I partially agree with the findings of the research. On the one hand, I agree that it is information overload when beginning research, but on the other hand I do not struggle too much with narrowing the scope once I have begun launching the project. The start is almost always the hardest for me, but once I get going with my research and writing my ideas come together and I do fairly well. Personally, to prevent the anxiety that arises with starting a new project, I should only focus on the first step rather than looking ahead at the whole project and going into despair about how much work I have to do. With that being said, the idea I need to be intentional with from the book is allowing myself enough time for the research and the actual writing of the speech.

I relate to when you said the start is the hardest part. I think most of my academic stress is self- inflicted because I procrastinate, not that the actual project is stressful.

I agree with what you said Lily, choosing the right thesis statement is the most important part of the whole paper.

I also don't really struggle with information overload once I've picked my topic and begun researching, but I agree that moving one step at a time helps to relieve any information anxiety that I might have.
