I believe that this is not even a debate because including more than one of your senses makes the audience more engaged and make you more successful as a speaker. One of the biggest problems that you need to recognize when creating a power point is to make sure it is not distracting for the audience and keeps you the center of your speech not your slide show but when this happens it make the debate on power points a no brainier.
I did not expect someone to say it is not even a debate. However, you make a compelling case. I like and agree with how you talk of power points cannot be distracting to be beneficial.
