When discussing "The great PowerPoint debate", my position is stood on the idea that slides are useful and should be used, but only if done correctly and in the right manner. For instance, slides used in a presentation should have small amounts of info, perhaps the main points, and then pictures or supporting details. The focus should still be on you, the slides should just support you. It would be inappropriate to use slides when the focus is to be on the slides, and the speaker may even be reading word for word off of the slides. While I think some use of presentations can be distracting, if a presentation or slideshow is done correctly it can be immensely beneficial to the speaker, but also the audience as well.

I agree with you that the focus should be on the speaker, not the slides. I also really like how you demonstrated that slides will support a speaker, but they should never overpower a speaker

I really like how you used the "they say, I say" approach in your response. It was concise and made a lot of sense.
