Sometimes a speaker is giving a speech on something that should be exciting, but the speaker is monotone. This makes the speech impersonal in a bad way. It also takes some credibility away because of the lack of care.

This is very true Josiah. I often find it hard to focus in speeches that are monotone when they are meant to be exciting. It is very important to make sure that during a speech one reflects the mood and tone that is expected by the audience.
