Delivery or body communication can contradict the message or spoken word of a speech because it can lead the audience in a wrong direction and maybe make them misunderstand what they are doing. It is important that body communications fits your speech and helps your case rather than distracts the audience. The contradiction can harm the point you are trying to make and make it hard for the audience to understand without the appropriate use of body communication. For example, someone who is supposed to be giving a speech that is exciting and cheerful, but presents it with a monotonous tone and face, will steer the audience into confusion and distraction. It is important to fit your tone and body language to the theme of your speech.
