Medical Restrictions

By implementing restrictions and guidelines in the healthcare system, the AMA has created a shortage of doctors. If the standards are higher for doctors and their education, there will inevitably be a shortage of medical workers. They will have a harder time making it through medical school and the high standards will scare many students away. Already we are seeing the results of these higher standards. There has been a 28 percent decrease in physicians since 1900. The results of less doctors means higher prices to go to the doctor. From 1900 to 1929 there was a 535 percent increase in wages for doctors. In conclusion, the higher standards to become a doctor has resulted in less medical workers and higher prices for consumers.
