During the beginning of the year of 2020, there is a huge spike in the civilian unemployment rate. It reaches a high of around 15 percent, far above the recession of 2008. This spike can be linked to the outbreak of COVID 19, which severely messed up the economy due to the little amount of people who were able to come in for work at that time.
