The discussion involves debating Keynes' theory of economics and how Mises viewed economics, where some took the view of Mises where they recognized that when the Government took a step back, the American people actually had more dollar to spend. On the other hand the reason why they are losing the debate is because Americans like the sound of more money going out to them. The central argument at the end was to essentially cut the Federal reserves power to control assets as a start to take a step back to stop manipulating the markets in a way that the american people do not want it. The people who understand how the money flows within the Fed and the government are the only winners from controlling markets, to the point where we can be pulling on strings that we don't even know what they are for.
