Ryan McMaken explained that Keynes' theory does not work because you cannot centrally plan an economy. One individual or government cannot know what is specifically good for thousands of individuals. And when that one individual makes those choices, it leaves many people worse off. His answer to Stossel's question was that his side's solution is not the popular one, and it looks better to people when the government spends money on stuff they want rather than not spending that money they printed.
