Tariffs are an easy way to absorb and drain money from tangent operations. Tariffs on steel is a prime example. Yes it supplied those singular companies with more money, but everyone else suffered: car manufacturers, and even farmers! Trade helps with wealth, if Americans made everything inland then we’d have higher prices, and less products to go around. We don’t have every resource known to man in this country, yet other counties do! It is important that we continue trades because it expands wealth and creates jobs. (The i-phone is a simple example of an innovation that is created through trade).
