TARIFF

TARIFF

Though tariffs seem at eye level to be protective of United States jobs, ultimately they do more harm than good. Where one business might benefit from tariffs on a certain product, enabling them to employ more people and keep prices with no competition, other companies might struggle and be forced to raise their prices due to more expensive materials. In the political world, the solution seems to be, "You get a tariff! You get a tariff! You get a tariff! Yeah domestic jobs!", but the reality is that this only leads to higher prices for consumers and even lower desire to spend as a result.
