High School Art - 2D/3D

Greetings artists! I miss seeing you guys! It's time to get started on a rough draft for the final project of the semester "O Holy Night."  The medium for this project will be in either soft pastel or oil pastel.  (We will do a self assessment of our preferred medium when we return.) Today, please research (in the Bible, the gospels) the scenes leading up to the birth of Christ.  Also read the scenes during the birth of Christ and immediately following the birth of Christ.  Figure out who you would like to focus on and create a rough draft drawing for the scene.  Examples- The Wise men determining what THE STAR meant, the owner of the manger that Mary & Joseph visit, the animals in the manger with the SAVIOR.  The gifts that were brought to Jesus, the shepherds in the field,  king Herod telling the Magi to find Jesus for him so that "he too could worship".There are many choices as to what or whom you could represent in this artistic piece.  Movie recommendation for visual references The Nativity Story (PG 2006 version)You will need to include the scripture reference for your image on your rough draft.  This will count as a sketchbook grade (25% of overall.)Hope to see you soon.  Enjoy another day away!  ~Mrs. Smith
